Welcome According to current figures less than 6% of UK publishers are accredited by Book Industry Communication (BIC). Less than 3% have the top accreditation. What does this mean? Quite simply, if your company is not on the accreditation list, you’re losing sales. Ward McCandlish has achieved a BIC accreditation for six client publishers. Three of these publishers were given (and maintained) the top award: BIC Excellence Plus. Who are we? Established in 2004, Ward McCandlish is a specialist bibliographic data management company that collates and delivers client publishers' bibliographic data to data aggregators, consumer websites, wholesalers and distributors. We supply a cost-effective service that ensures our clients' bibliographic data meets the industry standards as set by BIC, meeting the requirements of booksellers and therefore helping to increase the sales of our clients' titles. Our clients range from smaller companies publishing two books a year to larger organisations publishing over 500 titles a year. We've developed our own ONIX system, fully tested and approved by both Nielsen and Bowker. We now supply a regular ONIX data feed to Nielsen, Bowker, BDS, Amazon, Google, Kobo and Gardners along with overseas distributors and sales agents. Our system also allows us to supply customised files for use on our clients' websites. Based in Somerset, we have over 45 years combined experience in the UK book trade, both in publishing and bookselling.

Recent News In January 2018 Mushroom Model Publications was awarded a BIC accreditation In the summer of 2016 WMcC began supplying ebook data and assets directly to Apple. We are one of only a handful of UK companies to do this. In July 2016 Head of Zeus, a client of WMcC since their launch in 2012, were awarded the top BIC accreditation for the forth year in a row.
