  What do we do?
(We do quite a lot - so if you want the short version, jump to the last bullet point…)
  •
Approximately nine months ahead of publication we contact our
clients to request all information relating to their forthcoming
  titles
  •
All information and images are collated and a full Onix title record
  is created
  •
Text is copy-edited and checked for errors
  •
Title records are uploaded to the data agencies (Nielsen, BDS and
Bowker) at least 16 weeks ahead of publication date to comply
with the industry requirements as set out by BIC
  •
In addition to the data agencies we also supply feeds and cover
images to Amazon, Google, Kobo, Gardners plus distributors and
  online retailers worldwide
  •
For ebooks, we also supply data (non Onix), covers and epubs to Apple
  •
Where required, we supply a data feed for clients' websites
  •
Trade websites and Amazon are checked to ensure the data has been correctly processed
  •
Data agencies are advised of errors and titles are rechecked online
  •
Data is updated as required by the publisher (changes to price, publication date, extent, descriptions,
  etc).
  •
Reviews and additional information are added as they become available
  •
Reports are supplied to client publishers showing the detail behind any incomplete records
  •
Ward McCandlish also acts in an advisory capacity in all aspects of bibliographic data supply
  •
Or, in other words, we'll handle all your bibliographic data management,
sorting out all the problems for you, to ensure that your title data is
accurate, accessible and delivered on time
